NTCIP, or National Transportation Communications for ITS Protocol, is a standard protocol that allows traffic management systems to talk to intelligent transportations systems (ITS) field devices such as: dynamic message signs, CCTV cameras, vehicle detection sensors, traffic signals, road weather information stations (RWIS), and many more. Learn more about how you can bring the power of standards-based NTCIP into your organization, systems and devices.

Connecting ITS Devices

We provide solutions for testing, upgrading, and communicating between NTCIP devices and central systems. Our comprehensive NTCIP expertise helps manufacturers, agencies, and DoTs maintain their ITS systems to better monitor, manage, and control the efficiency and safety of our roads

A family of low-cost solutions for the implementation of field devices that require NTCIP conformant communication. The small size and powerful performance of the DTI controllers make them the perfect engines to control signs, traffic count systems, weather stations, cameras or any custom application where NTCIP communication is required.

The module is provided with NTCIP communications built in, so the only custom development required is the interfacing of the module to the applicable field sensor or output device. A full-function RS232 connector at one end allows interfacing via modem to a central computer, while the serial port at the other end is connected to the field device. On-board jumper-selectable RS485 provides the flexibility to manage a network of IDI 1100’s on both serial ports.
