Telly awards honor the best film and video productions and online video content, as well as local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs.<\/p>\n<p>Bridging La Guaya River documents the building of a 58-m footbridge over the La Guaya River in the small village of La Guaya, Colombia (northeast of Bogot\u00e1). In 2016, a Parsons team\u2014in conjunction with <a href=\"\/media\/bridges-to-prosperity\/\">Bridges to Prosperity<\/a>, Puentes de la Esperanza, and the La Guaya community\u2014built the bridge to help local children consistently and safely reach school and also to improve the community\u2019s access to markets and medical services. The video demonstrates how Parsons\u2019 team overcame harsh conditions, language barriers, and a fast-track schedule to complete the bridge in just 9 days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBridging La Guaya River provides a behind-the-scenes look at how engineering and passionate volunteers can make a huge impact on people\u2019s lives,\u201d said Erin Kuhlman, Parsons Vice President, Corporate MarCom.<\/p>\n<p>She added, \u201cWe are honored by this recognition not only because we\u2019re proud of our <a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/CSR_Report_2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">corporate social responsibility<\/a>\u00a0efforts and the work our 11-member multinational team did in Colombia, but also because Bridging La Guaya River is an example of our in-house video production capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards receive more than 13,000 entries annually from the best ad agencies, cable companies, corporations, interactive agencies, production companies, and TV stations from all 50 states and 5 continents. All judges are industry professionals who have won a Silver Telly and are members of the Silver Telly Council. Entries are scored on a performance scale, and winning entries are recognized and awarded as silver or bronze winners based on the combined scoring of the judges.
