It builds upon Parsons\u2019 current Increment I project to improve the capabilities of the Lebanese Armed Forces to deter, detect, and interdict weapons of mass destruction and related materials on the country\u2019s 233-mile border with Syria.<\/p>\n<p>The focus of Increment II is border surveillance for land border regiments, delivering new equipment, network integration of border-security surveillance equipment, equipment-related training, and concept-of-operations-related training to enhance capabilities in command and control, communications, surveillance, and detection and interdiction of weapons of mass destruction. Parsons will also help the Lebanese Armed Forces sustain and build upon these capabilities for the long term.<\/p>\n<p>This award continues Parsons\u2019 direct support of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency\u2019s (DTRA&#8217;s) important mission to secure Lebanon\u2019s border with Syria, as well as the company\u2019s partnership with the Government of Lebanon and the Lebanese Armed Forces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis important task order directly contributes to making the world a safer place,\u201d stated Carey Smith, Parsons Federal Group President. \u201cWe are excited to continue supporting DTRA in its mission to reduce the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This task order was awarded under the DTRA Cooperative Threat Reduction Integrating Contract II (CTRIC II).
