Our employees have shown great dedication to making a difference. Whether it&#8217;s volunteering at our company-wide events, taking part in local office or group initiatives, or supporting their favorite non-profit organizations in their communities, our employees have truly stepped up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-parsons-gives-back-events\"><strong>Parsons Gives Back Events<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.parsons.com\/parsons-gives-back\/\">Parsons Gives Back<\/a> is our corporate philanthropic initiative, encompassing not only volunteering but also fundraising and partnerships with organizations to enhance the communities where we live and work. We invite you to watch our brand-new Parsons Gives Back video below to learn more about our efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout 2023, we&#8217;ve been involved in various Gives Back initiatives, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>More than 100 Parsons judges volunteered more than 450 hours for the Technovation Girls Challenge, empowering girls aged 8-18 to develop AI apps to address community challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our 48in48 Volunteer Team dedicated 48 hours to create impressive websites for the non-profit&#8217;s Social Justice Build, supporting nonprofits by providing professional websites.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our IT Leadership team organized the Build-a-Bike Bonanza, where 25 employees assembled bicycles benefiting the Boys &amp; Girls Club of Greater Washington, DC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We collaborated with three charities globally to supply essential resources to nearly 1,300 students, including school supplies, education, meals, and uniforms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We proudly sponsored the Annual Golf Outing for Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), contributing to the nearly $1.3 million raised for TAPS since 2008.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>So far this year, Parsons employees have volunteered over 12,800 hours for various causes, including Special Olympics, Marines Toys for Tots, Boy Scouts of America, industry organizations, local food pantries, animal rescues, and fire departments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-volunteering-trends\"><strong>Volunteering Trends<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>These remarkable efforts align with current trends in corporate volunteering, including virtual volunteerism, equity in volunteerism, and skills-based volunteerism. Virtual volunteer opportunities have become more prevalent, offering employees the convenience of making a difference from their own homes, as demonstrated by our remote 48in48 and Technovation events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re committed to equity in volunteering and consider factors like diversity, accessibility, cultural appropriateness, and language accessibility when selecting charities and volunteer opportunities. We strategically partner with our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parsons.com\/diversity-equity-inclusion\/\">Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion<\/a> team to give back to organizations aligned with the missions of our Employee Business Resource groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Skills-based volunteerism, where employees share their expertise, has a profound impact on talent attraction, retention, and non-profit relationships. One of our 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parsons.com\/2023\/04\/2023-volunteer-of-the-year-awards\/\">Volunteer of the Year<\/a> winners, Savannah Sellner, exemplifies the impact of skills-based volunteerism. Last year, she mentored students on a suspended footbridge construction project in Bolivia and is now pioneering a mentoring program with Engineers in Action for 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We remain at the forefront of corporate volunteering trends, aligning our efforts with the changing landscape of giving back. As we adapt to virtual volunteerism, champion equity in our philanthropic endeavors, and actively engage in skills-based volunteerism, we are not only building a better world but also shaping a future
