Carey Smith Named Chief Operating Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n PASADENA, CA (November 1, 2018) \u2013 Parsons Corporation, a digitally enabled solutions provider focused on the national security, intelligence, and infrastructure markets, announced today that it is combining its Federal and Infrastructure business units into a singular, more agile business structure. The new structure will better align the company\u2019s end-to-end solutions with its diverse client set while also establishing joint research and development projects that leverage the collective strengths of both organizations. The company also announced today it is creating two new positions in its executive leadership team in response to Parsons\u2019 accelerated growth in an increasingly technologically converged marketplace.<\/p>\n Carey Smith, most recently President of Parsons Federal, will oversee both business units in the re-established position of Chief Operating Officer, reporting directly to Chairman and CEO Chuck Harrington. During her 2\u00a0years at Parsons, Smith and her team have exceeded all financial performance metrics and acquired and integrated two companies: Polaris Alpha and Williams Electric.<\/p>\n \u201cCombining the federal and infrastructure markets under Carey facilitates our organizational agility, innovation, and collaboration across the company, better serving our customers with digital solutions to their technologically complex challenges,\u201d said Harrington. \u201cThis structural alignment also provides enhanced and broadened opportunities to our talented workforce while driving cross-market innovation. Having Carey as COO is an important step in continuing our growth strategy.\u201d<\/p>\n As COO for the Federal and Infrastructure businesses, Smith will have responsibility for profit and loss of the unit, as well as implementation of the corporate organic growth strategy built on continuous technology innovation.<\/p>\n Under the new business structure, Parsons Middle East Africa (MEA) will continue to operate as a standalone business unit.<\/p>\n \u201cParsons\u2019 defense, security, intelligence, and infrastructure customers need converged end-to-end solutions. I look forward to helping them achieve their personal goals while better serving our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n In addition to Smith\u2019s new role, Mike Johnson, President of Infrastructure, will take on the position of Chief Development Officer reporting directly to Harrington. Drawing upon more than 25\u00a0years of business development and profit and loss management at Parsons, Johnson will focus on expanding Parsons\u2019 strategic customer, partner, and supplier relationships across the company.<\/p>\n Additionally, Virginia Grebbien, Corporate Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff, will become Chief Marketing Officer, reporting directly to Harrington. Grebbien had previously served as President of the company\u2019s Commercial Technology and Water business lines and prior to that led the Water business unit\u2019s global business development. She will be responsible for the company\u2019s marketing, branding, internal and external communications, Fellows Program, and government relations.<\/p>\n \u201cBy elevating Mike and Virginia to their new roles, I want to send a clear message on the importance of collaboration and innovation\u2014both within Parsons and externally with our key customers and industry influencers.
