She will also serve on the Council\u2019s Executive Committee for another term. The Council is the leading advocate for the federal professional and technical services industry on legislative and regulatory issues. Ms. Smith,\u00a0<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/16-11-federal-smith.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">who joined Parsons<\/a>\u00a0in November 2016, has served on the Council\u2019s Executive Committee and Board of Directors since 2015.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am honored to be named Secretary of the Board of the Professional Services Council and to continue to serve on both the PSC Board and the Executive Committee,\u201d stated Smith. \u201cWe are at a critical moment in the government services sector, as we work to defend our nation against cyber threats and rebuild our infrastructure. I look forward to developing the communication and cooperation between government and industry needed to achieve our common goals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As a member of the Council for more than a decade, Ms. Smith has provided thought leadership on a broad range of issues affecting the government services industry. These issues include workforce development to ensure the availability of an agile workforce to meet government needs, improvements to the acquisitions process to create greater accountability and transparency, and streamlining regulatory requirements to foster innovation.<\/p>\n<p>The Professional Services Council, founded in 1972, is the industry leader on legislative and regulatory issues related to government acquisition, business, and technology. It helps shape public policy, leads strategic coalitions, and works to build consensus between government and industry. The Council\u2019s more than 400 member companies represent small, medium, and large businesses that provide federal agencies with services including information technology, engineering, logistics, facilities management, operations and maintenance, consulting, international development, and scientific, social, and environmental services.
