Abdullah Al-Mogbel; Amy Ford; Tim McManus; John\nRossant; and Sam Schwartz. The group will be responsible for identifying the\nwinner of the Parsons challenge. Semi-finalists will be announced on Nov. 15 during\nCoMotion LA in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The judges are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Al-Mogbel<\/strong>:\nHis Excellency, who will chair the panel of judges, has served as Saudi\nArabia\u2019s minister of transport and is a former mayor of Riyadh, giving him the\nopportunity to work on some of Saudi Arabia\u2019s largest infrastructure projects. <\/li><li><strong>Amy Ford<\/strong>: As the director of the Mobility\non Demand Alliance (MODA) for ITS America, Amy Ford leads the creation,\nstrategic direction, and activities of MODA. MODA promotes an innovative,\ntraveler-focused approach to transportation that leverages emerging mobility\nservices, integrated transit networks and operations, real-time data, connected\ntravelers, and cooperative intelligent transportation systems (ITS). <\/li><li><strong>Tim McManus<\/strong>: Tim McManus is a global\nexpert on the development and delivery of major capital projects and programs.\nHe\u2019s currently an associate professor at Columbia University\u2019s School of\nEngineering. From 2015 to 2019, Tim was a vice president and client development\nadvisor at McKinsey &amp; Company. <\/li><li><strong>John Rossant: <\/strong>John Rossant is the CEO of\nCoMotion, the new mobility platform that organizes CoMotion LA, the annual\ngathering of public- and private-sector leaders of the mobility revolution.\nHe\u2019s also the founder and chairman of the NewCities Foundation, which is\ndedicated to improving the quality of life and work in global cities.<\/li><li><strong>Sam Schwartz: <\/strong>Sam Schwartz, a former New\nYork City traffic commissioner, is the CEO of Sam Schwartz Engineering, a firm\nspecializing in transportation planning and engineering. Sam\u2019s transportation\ncareer began in the late 1960s as a New York City cabbie, and he first joined\nthe Traffic Department, as a junior engineer, in 1971. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In August, the company announced a Smart Cities Challenge\n\u2013 titled <em>Improving Intersections <\/em>\u00ad\u2013 to enhance city mobility, shorten commute\ntimes and increase safety at intersections around the world. The goal is to\nchange the way cities move by collaborating with governments to solve some of\nthe most complex mobility issues they face today, including frustrated\nmotorists sitting at intersections in traffic backups waiting for lights to\nchange. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parsons solution to the global mobility issue includes automated\ntraffic re-timing based on changing traffic patterns, systems that connect\nvehicles with traffic signals, and accounting for the rise of pedestrians,\nbicycle, electric scooter and other means of current transportation.
