Parsons provided engineering services for the projects, including a feasibility study, preliminary design, coordination with Southern California Edison, construction management, and construction inspection.<\/p>\n<p>As part of EMWD\u2019s Sustainability and Green Energy Initiative, the projects offset traditional energy use and help EMWD stabilize ratepayer costs in an economic environment of rising energy costs. The successful completion of a 0.5-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic renewable energy facility at the EMWD Administrative Facility triggered the initiation of five additional 1-MW each solar projects at EMWD\u2019s regional water reclamation facilities located in Perris Valley, Moreno Valley, San Jacinto Valley, Temecula, and Sun City. The solar facility at Sun City also offsets energy use at EMWD\u2019s Menifee and Perris I Groundwater Desalination Facility that provides potable water to the surrounding communities of Sun City and Menifee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParsons executed these projects on an accelerated schedule so EMWD could receive California Solar Initiative incentives,\u201d said Michael Walsh, Parsons Group President. \u201cBecause our team ensured on-time completion, EMWD was able to bring these facilities online prior to peak energy consumption season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To meet the deadlines required to earn the California Solar Initiative incentives, these projects were procured using the design-build project delivery method.
